Even the highest quality barrier systems require proper installation to perform well. Below are recommendations when installing an intelligent LED boom barrier to ensure long life, reliable operation, and safety.

1. Site preparation is critical. The foundation must be level and solid to support the motor housing and boom arm without vibration. Mounting plate or pad should be aligned such that boom operates vertically and horizontally without binding.
2. Ensure correct power supply. Input voltage options such as AC110V or AC220V must match local power. Ensure voltage tolerance is acceptable. Grounding must be secure to protect motor case and electronics from lightning or surge damage.
3. Boom length and type should suit the situation. Shorter boom arms are faster and require less torque, but longer arms—for example up to six meters—might be needed in some entrances. Use folding or fence style booms if height or clearance is constrained.
4. Environmental protection. Ensure housing is sealed properly, use IP54 or better enclosures. Protect exposed parts from rain, dust, snow. Use coatings or protection for boom arm or pivot points if corrosive materials (salt, chemicals) are present.
5. Safety wiring and sensors. Install obstacle detection sensors, loop detectors, photocells properly on both sides of the boom. That enables auto reverse or stop in case of obstruction. Pay attention to controller settings for auto-closing delay or counting features to ensure correct behavior.
6. Align LED boom elements. If boom has LED strips or lighting, ensure visibility is not compromised. Keep LED elements clean, check for damage, ensure wiring is well protected and not pinched or exposed.
7. Commissioning and testing. Test opening/closing cycles many times, simulate obstacle scenarios, test control signal input (NO/NC), test communication protocols (RS485, RJ45). Adjust speed, delay, safety threshold before regular operation.
8. Maintenance schedule. Even with free maintenance for parts during warranty, regular lubrication of moving parts, periodic inspection of boom alignment, check for loose bolts, check for wear and tear, clean components as needed. These steps ensure long life and reliability.
